Jim Springer serves as Senior Vice President and Senior Lending Officer for FirstCity Bank of Commerce.  He has been a Palm Beach County banker for over 20 years, starting his career with Barnett Bank.  Jim has been helping businesses grow, and business owners reach their financial goals for more than two decades.

Jim lives in Palm Beach Gardens.  He is married with two children and one (soon to be two) grand children.  He grew up on the West Coast of Florida, and attended the US Air Force Academy.  He is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, and he graduated from the University of Virginia’s Graduate School of Banking in 1996.

Jim’s favorite past-times include traveling and racquet sports.

Over the years Jim has worked with and/or served on boards of directors for the American Heart Association, The Chamber of the Palm Beaches, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Diabetes Research Institute, and Boy Scouts of America. 

Today Jim is active with the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce, he is on the board and Treasurer for Families First of Palm Beach County, and he remains active with Junior Achievement of the Palm Beaches where he is the immediate past chairman and a member of the executive committee.  In 2006 Jim was an honoree at the Florence Fuller Child Development Centers annual Men with Caring Hearts program for his outstanding community service.
